The Latest in Instant Print Dental Photography Polaroid has recently announced the discontinuation of its instant film line. This decision has made many dentists office scramble to find a new instant camera solution. Rather than turn to a film based camera, Lester A. Dine Inc, recommends the latest in digital photography, the Dine Digital Instant Print System. The photographic process is very similar to that of Polaroids... 1. Take your dental pictures with the Dine Camera To learn more about the picture taking process check out this youtube.com video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9H4-D9i5pI 2. Review the image on the video screen on the back of the camera 3. Remove the memory card from the camera and place it into the printer. 4. Press the Print Button Multiple photos and prints can be done at the same time. You only print what you want when you want it. Multiple prints of the same image can be done with a single picture. Prints cost roughly $.40 per picture (Polaroids over $1.00). The camera is a fraction of the size of cameras like the Macro 5. The Dine Instant Print System is a computer free digital solution, featuring a Dine modified small format digital camera and 4 x 6 inch printer. The camera weighs under a pound and fits into the palm of almost any hand. The camera is capable of accomplishing the full range of dental photography with ease from the 1:1 extreme close-up of a posterior quadrant to anterior, lateral, and all mirror photos including occlusals and linguals. The camera also works great for portraits and personal photography. The printer can run independently of a computer. The memory card can be placed directly into the printer to produce hard copy output. The Dye sublimation printer imbeds ink into the paper creating a long term printing solution. Printing generally takse roughly 90 seconds and cost per print is roughly $.40 For those hoping to add the computer to the entire digital scenario, the Dine Instant Print kit also includes Dine's Pixelease Imaging Software. A program designed for image mangement, cosmetic imaging, and printing. The program is capable of creating patient files with images. Users can record and cross reference data, run slide shows, and lay the images out for printing. Included printing templates allow for before and afters, the typical orthodontic layout, letter writing, plus much more. In addition the program includes a full module for cosmetic imaging, allowing for such common imaging tasks as diastema closure, whitening, lengthening, smile gallery simulation and composite filling simulation.
